Over the years, many friends of mine from Spain have gone to Los Angeles for meetings, for shootings, or they just simply live there since long time ago, as it is the case of my well-known friend Jaume Collet-Serra. Other Spanish friends I have in Los Angeles are Oscar nominee Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, the recognized cinematographer Javier Aguirresarobe, and the musician Lucas Vidal, to name a few.
Althought not a friend of mine, I admire Antonio Banderas, and he was also another Spanish filmmaker that was easy to spot in town, and I got the chance to talk to him a few times, when he lived in LA.
You might end up running into them on any given day in Los Angeles. They are very nice people, despite how big they are in the movie business, and I’m lucky to have most of them as friends of mine.
