The first time I met Guillermo was in 2006, at a Fangoria’s Weekend of Horror in Burbank. I was so flattered to meet him because I always felt myself connected to him, probably because our hispanic roots and the way we crafted our first short films when we were young.
Over the years he was so nice to me and, en the end, we became friends. I feel so honored everytime I attend the premieres of movies he has directed and produced, and also the After-Parties, which are a good way to mingle with great people. That way I got to meet ‘Hellboy’ in person, actor Ron Perlman, among other interesting people. On top of that, in the summer of 2016, Guillermo invited me to visit the shooting in Toronto of his latest movie, “The Shape of Water”. What an honor.
